Time is a circle

Nobody wants to deal with reality.. because reality has gotten to be too disgusting.
We are on our way to the dark ages again. That's what we're looking at right now: it's not just 1984 !
We're looking at something that is gonna make the first dark ages seem like a company picnic !
Because there's just so many more utensils that can be used to keep the population in the dark and stupid, and under control.

The invisible war
03:20
|
|||
There's a war going on outside.
No one's safe.
Even though you can't see the war happening, it's always there.
Whether it's in the mind, whether it's a psychic attack, or you're not feeling.
Or being at war with yourself or feeling like the world is at war with your spirit.
These are states that you have to navigate.
***
- This is where, you know.. this is where I hide from the apocalypse basically... from the oncoming apocalypse, which is.. approaching very soon: run, hide.
- What's the apocalypse you're hiding from?
- Oh you didn't know that the apocalypse was here? You didn't realize that we're in the middle of world war 3 and that we're gonna die soon? No ? You didn't know that??
We're gonna die !

Mirrors & windows

Your beliefs form reality.
Your beliefs meet you in the face when you look in the mirror.
They form your image.
You cannot escape your beliefs.
They are however, the method by which you create your experience.
If you believe that the world is against you, then so it will be in your experience.
And if you believe that people mean you well and will treat you kindly, they will.
Then I am telling you to be aware of the contents of your conscious mind.
Your events, your lives, your experiences are caused by your present beliefs.
Change the beliefs and your life changes.

Our own eclipses

|

- We birth our own eclipses
- No more moon phases, just all out complete darkness...
- That's right ! Which is it all began anyway.

Ancient future
03:44
|
|||
I've always felt very sad with pop culture.
Especially the Andy Warhol, and all that period which was all about erasing mythology and erasing the past, and cutting the cord from all past. And that shoot the roots down into Campbell soups, and plastic, and manufactured, and mass-made polka dots.
I've always thought that one could shoot the roots five thousand years back at all the mythology one has from nature and from country, and still be completely modern.
So my role more has a musician (is) to connect the ancient mythology and the future.

We are the technology
02:52
|
|||
We are the technology.
And poetry is code.
The drum... as the first form of wireless communication.
When we look at modern devices...
As long as they are dependent on those unnamed workforces in the Congo.
As long as they are dependent on all of these resources.
I'm not impressed with that, as technology.
Because technology is supposed to move us forward.
Not continue some sort of analog exploitation that has gone on ever since.
Art is powerful !
Art can mean something, art can change lives !
Art can progress society, art can uplift society !
Art can free fucking life sentences !
Yes, the lawyers play their role !
Yes, the activists play their role !
Yes, we all play our role, the school teachers: everybody has to play their role !
Art is to remind you of the purpose of playing that role.

I think artists have this incredible job to do, which is that, we can talk about what is not yet, but what could be.
Your job is to make the revolution irresistible, to make it appealing, you know.
That in every image you take or film you make or character you embody:
How are you pointing to the world that you want to invite in?
And how you are saying "no" to the world that is so clearly broken and crumbling, you know, very evidently all around us right now ?
I feel a tremendous sense of optimism about having to face where we actually are.
And then having to do the really hard work of collectively dreaming together a completely new way of being.
And then, you know, using art, and writing, and poetry, and images to like... walk there together.
